Our Class B CDL Passenger (P) Training Program prepares students for careers in passenger transportation. This 5-day, ELDT-compliant program provides hands-on experience and classroom instruction needed to earn the Passenger (P) endorsement.

Students must provide their own passenger bus for training. School buses are not included and cannot be used unless the student is also pursuing the School Bus (S) endorsement. Proof of registration and insurance is required.

Program Overview

Duration: 5 days (non-consecutive, Monday – Friday)
Hours: 40 total training hours
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: 6230 Hackett Rd, Freeland, MI 48623
Program Includes: ELDT-compliant classroom + hands-on training for a Class B CDL with Passenger (P)

Classroom Instruction (2 Days)

Students begin with 2 days of live virtual classroom instruction, mandatory to meet FMCSA ELDT requirements. Topics include:

Basic vehicle operation
Passenger safety and management
Vehicle inspection procedures
Safe operating practices
Defensive driving and hazard awareness
Speed and space management
Hours of Service (HOS) basics
State and federal CDL regulations
Health, wellness, and fatigue management

Virtual classroom instruction is live and interactive via Google Meet. Students must attend in real time and cannot complete coursework at their own pace.

Hands-On Behind-the-Wheel Training (3 Days)

Students complete 3 full days of hands-on training at our Freeland facility, operating their own passenger bus, including:

Pre-trip inspections and safety checks
Vehicle control and maneuvering
Passenger bus operation techniques
Real-world driving in traffic environments
Defensive driving and hazard response

Virtual classroom instruction is live and interactive via Google Meet. Students must attend in real time and cannot complete coursework at their own pace.

Learner’s permit written test fees
One state CDL road skills test attempt
Small class sizes with experienced instructors
Certificate of Completion (40 hours) awarded upon program completion

What’s Not Included

DOT physical
5-panel drug test (Both required prior to the start of class and must be scheduled at a local urgent care)
